Oktober 1970 die Rede \u201eDas Ende Gro\u00dfbritanniens\u201c in der Conway Hall in London hielt, war es niemand geringerer als Fritz Schumacher, der in seiner Laudatio Kohrs Bedeutung gleich auf den Punkt bringt: \u201e\u2026 ein \u00d6konom, der \u00fcber die \u00d6konomie hinausblickt, sie durchschaut, sein Augenmerk \u00fcber sie hinweg und hinter die Kulissen lenkt und der die \u00d6konomie mit Freuden in ihre Schranken weist.\u201c Und Schumacher beklagt, dass solch wertvolle \u00d6konomen in solch \u201eschizophrenen Zeiten\u201c rar und meist unbemerkt blieben, Zeiten in denen unser Leben von einer einzigen Religion beherrscht werde \u201eder Religion der \u00d6konomie\u201c.Der \u201eZusammenbruch Gro\u00dfbritanniens\u201c, Kohrs Rede aus dem Jahre 1970, macht unmissverst\u00e4ndlich deutlich, dass eine lebensf\u00e4hige und nachhaltige Regionalwirtschaft unverzichtbar ist.
